This thesis presents a computer program for the automatic design of modular fixture assemblies. The program takes workpiece geometry, machining envelope, and fixturing points as input and generates a fixture design as output. It employs a systematic design procedure and a spatial representation technique to describe and manipulate objects involved in the fixture assembly process. The research contributes to automating the design of modular fixtures, addressing a critical challenge in flexible manufacturing systems.
